The best art YouTube channels
Art on YouTube splits into two things that rarely share a list. There is watching somebody make something, which is one of the most calming uses the site has ever had, and there is actually learning to draw, paint or model, which requires a teacher rather than a timelapse. Search results mix them freely and leave you to work out which you just clicked.
This page keeps both but labels them. Each review says whether a channel is a workshop you follow along with or a studio you sit in, and what medium it really works in, because the gap between digital illustration and oil painting is wider than the category admits. Every card carries the spoken language and the live subscriber count.

Why these made the list
For the teaching channels, the question was whether a beginner could finish something. That excludes the ones who speed up every difficult passage, which is exactly where a learner needs real time. For the rest, it was whether the work is worth watching even if you never pick up a pencil. Channels that are mostly a shop with a video attached did not make it.
Questions
Do I need expensive software or supplies?
For several of these, no. Where a channel works in paid software or specific materials, the review names it up front rather than letting you find out in the middle of a lesson.
Is this digital art or traditional?
Both, and each card says which. They are genuinely different crafts with different learning curves, and blurring them is how people end up frustrated with a tablet they did not need yet.
Are any of these good just to have on?
Yes, and the reviews point them out. Process footage with no talking is one of the things YouTube does best, and it is a completely legitimate reason to subscribe.
